We take your privacy very seriously (they all say that, I know). Smart meter data is personal data, which is why we keep it secure and only our researchers have access to it.

Sometimes it can be helpful to share sections of your smart meter data with a wider audience. Before we would do that, we remove anything that would identify you, like name and address. However, if you shared your smart meter data with someone else, they may be able to recognise your profile if it were to contain particularly unusual patterns. To give you an idea, here is an example of the type of data we would share (this is my own smart meter data for a month).
